How to Use CBD Patches

Our CBD patches are transdermal, releasing CBD gradually into the skin through the warmth of your body. The patch typically lasts for 8–10 hours, but you can leave it on for up to 24 hours. You'll notice when its effect diminishes and when it's time to apply a new patch. CBD patches are transparent with a subtle print, making them nearly invisible on the skin. Each patch measures 8 x 10 cm and can be used on bruises, swelling, sore muscles, joints, lower back, or neck. They are also suitable for pets such as dogs, cats, and horses—apply them to hairless skin.

The patch works locally, providing relief at the application site. Apply it to the desired area, ideally on clean, intact, and hair-free skin to avoid discomfort when removing it. After removal, adhesive residue may remain on the skin and can be washed off with soap and lukewarm water. If the patch loses its effect after several hours, replace it with a new one.

CBD patches are an excellent alternative to our hemp ointment with comfrey but can also be used in combination. We recommend degreasing the skin with soap and drying it before application. For smaller areas, consider our CBD Patches 600 mg, measuring 4 x 4 cm.

How CBD Patches Work

The skin is more than just a protective barrier—it’s a complex organ essential for immunity and sensory interaction with the world, allowing us to perceive heat, cold, texture, and pain. When a CBD patch is applied to the skin, a unique interaction occurs between the patch and the skin. Cannabinoids, including CBD, interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis (balance). This system regulates various functions, including pain perception, immune response, and inflammation.

This process involves two primary receptor types in the skin: CB1 and CB2.

  • CB1 receptors regulate pain and inflammation.
  • CB2 receptors primarily affect immune response and inflammation.

When you apply a CBD patch, CBD molecules are slowly released and penetrate deeper skin layers, binding to these receptors. This activation can reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and support healing processes.

While the precise mechanism of cannabinoid interaction with the endocannabinoid system is not yet fully understood, increasing evidence suggests that cannabinoids from hemp can provide significant benefits to the body.
